As of Tuesday, June 6, customers in Region East will now have their meters read by a third Party Contracting Company, Precision Logistics. Region East consists of the following parishes: Kingston and St. Andrew, St Thomas, Portland & St. Mary.
Employees of Precision Logistics will be dressed in yellow shirt and jeans or khaki pants and will possess identification that verifies that they are contracted to carry out meter reading activities on behalf of JPS. The Meter Reader from Precision Logistics will also drive a motor vehicle bearing a sticker with the words “JPS Contractor.”
JPS and the Ministry of National Security (MNS) on Friday (May 12) signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which provide the terms under which the two entities will partner on the development and implementation of strategies to address electricity theft, which is universally seen as a “starter crime.” The collaboration will include the sharing of personnel and information, joint technology usage and the development of policies and procedures pertaining to social intervention and community renewal programmes.
As previously reported, Kelly Tomblin’s contract as President & CEO of JPS is concluding in early July.
JPS’ shareholders are in final discussions to name her successor by early June.
