Sean Paul Receives Online Death Threats

Sean PaulJamaican dancehall star, Sean Paul, has received online death threats warning that he should not perform at a New Year’s Eve concert in the Maldives.

The video shows a person displaying cards which read, “Sean Paul, if you visit the Maldives, the world will see your burned and blood-drenched dead body."  The Grammy award winning singer was also accused of being a non-believer, whose presence will not be welcomed.  “It is for all Muslim to jihad in the name of Allah. Hence disbelievers like Sean Paul, who are like the worst of devil’s advocates, deserve nothing but death,” said the threat".

JPS Offers Rewards for Energy Conservation

The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) is offering its customers a chance to win rewards for their conservation efforts.  The Light and Power Company has launched a PowerSmart Energy Challenge for residential customers who are interested in competing for a chance to win the Grand Prize of One Million Dollars in cash and kind.

“The Energy Challenge is an exciting reality-type competition that will be played out on TV and Social Media between December 2014 and March 2015. Six lucky families will be chosen to compete against one another to see which family can achieve the largest reduction in their monthly kilowatt-hour (kWh) usage,” explained Sheree Martin, JPS’ Senior VP for Customer and Corporate Services.
