Inner-City Youth Get Social Graces Workshop

Social Graces WorkshopIt was fine dining at the Re-Birth Project recently, where 20 students from the Tivoli Gardens and Norman Manley High School, along with their parents, were treated to a three-course meal as a practical simulation during their dining etiquette workshop.

The Re-Birth Project, launched in March is a specially designed, nine-week intervention initiative by marketing consultancy MC&Associates, formerly CBS Ltd, aimed at reducing and preventing delinquency of at-risk teenagers. Through the involvement of parents, the schools, expertise of select resource persons plus interaction with successful executives, entrepreneurs and motivational speakers, the programme utilizes development workshops to help the youth build resilience while encouraging them to strive for excellence. Having dealt with self-esteem, goal-setting, avoiding distraction on the streets, anger and conflict management, the Project's eighth session focused on 'Personal Development for Career Success', equipping the participants (parents and students) for success in business and socially.
