Is dancehall music fuelling crime?

New Fishing Village For Back Road, Port Henderson

The Urban Development Corporation recently shared layout designs for a new fishing village to be established at Sector M East, Port Henderson Road (Back Road), St Catherine.

This fishing village will replace the informal settlement called the Forum Fishing Village located on the Forum Beach. Occupants of this informal settlement, including fisher folk, commercial interests and residents, are required to vacate the beach in light of the UDC’s sale of the Forum Hotel in January 2014.



UDC Collaborates With TEF and PAJ to Improve The Historic Town of Falmouth


The Urban Development Corporation (UDC) has signed an agreement with the Port Authority of Jamaica (PAJ) and the Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF) to improve the streetscape aesthetics of the Historic town of Falmouth in the parish of Trelawny.

The project will be funded by the Tourism Enhancement Fund at a cost of $279.9m with completion scheduled for May 2015.
