Yohan BlakeTelecommunications provider LIME has welcomed 100m World Champion, Yohan Blake to its cadre of top athlete brand ambassadors.

The highlight of 'Jamaica Day' activities staged at Blake's alma mater, St. Jago High School on February 17, the company announced a three-year partnership with the 22-year-old star athlete.

"It is with great pleasure that we welcome Mr. Yohan 'The Beast' Blake, speed sensation and future Olympian to Team LIME," said Grace Silvera, LIME's Regional Vice President, Marketing & Corporate Communications.

Damian Marley Inks Deal With LIMERegional Telecommunications provider LIME has welcomed multi -Grammy award winning recording artiste Damian 'Junior Gong' Marley, son of the musical legend Bob Marley, as its newest brand ambassador.

In a 'hortical' press briefing hosted at the Bob Marley Museum in Kingston on February 8, LIME's Chief Marketing Officer, Chris Dehring made the announcement that in addition to its association with the international reggae star, LIME customers will also be the first to access a series of projects and a highly anticipated new album set to be released by the singer.

The Dragonaires - A Band For All Times

When Byron Lee's Dragonaires were asked to open the celebrations, as well as play as a backing band, at the recently concluded Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival, it was a tribute to the band.

The seven Jamaican music stalwarts honoured for their exemplary contributions to the growth and development of Jamaica's music over the past 50 years at the event, have been significantly influenced by the work of the late Byron Lee. He was recognised by Jamaica Jazz in 2006, the year Lee celebrated his 50th anniversary.

Jamaica Fat Tyre Festival Attracts Top International Mountain Bikers

The Jamaica Fat Tyre Festival, a week-long mountain biking extravaganza highlighting the island’s breathtaking trails and vibrant culture has this year attracted some of the world’s top mountain bikers. Among the international riders participating in this year’s festival are pro mountain bikers Katie Holden, 2010 Pan-Am Downhill Champion and Rowan Sorrell, former UCI World Cup Downhill Racer.

“We are pleased that this event has grown over the years, and is now attracting some of the world’s top riders from the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom,” said Jamaica’s Director of Tourism John Lynch. “The destination is truly blessed because we can present a variety of events showcasing our cuisine, our culture and opportunities for adventure, all of which highlight the diversity of our unique product offering.”

BlackBerry Hosting Games Webcast for Caribbean Game Developers

On February 16, 2012 at 11 a.m. EST, Research In Motion (RIM) will be hosting a webcast on Developing Native Games to encourage Caribbean game developers to create games for the BlackBerry® PlayBook OS 2.0 tablet.  The BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 software update will soon be available as a free download for all BlackBerry PlayBook users by February 2012.

The webcast will cover key technical information needed for creating native games for BlackBerry and will take an in-depth look at the BlackBerry NDK 2.0 (Native SDK), as well as give details on the available development tools and provide tips on how developers can monetize and sell games on the BlackBerry Tablet OS and BlackBerry 10. Industry experts will also be available to share key lessons and will provide developers the chance to get questions answered through an interactive Q&A.
