Popcaan, the 23-year-old deejay with the unmistakably catchy voice, distinctive swagger, and up-to-the-minute street slang was propelled to the highest echelon of Jamaican music’s elite in 2011. As his popularity continues to surge, the 'Raving King' is ready to get 2012 on and popping.
With his hit, Only Man She Want, added to New York City’s Hot 97’s daily play list and BBC 1Extra listing him as one of the Hot 20 for 2012, Popcaan is fast getting on to the international radar and is the most in demand DJ from Jamaica right now.
On February 11, Popcaan will release a new mixtape, TJ Records and Chromatic presents PopcaanYiy Change. Chromatic DJs Creep and Nico have been instrumental in Popcaan’s career and this is their second mix tape together, the first being the hugely popular, Hot Skull, Fry Yiy, Boil Brainz.
Additionally, on February 3, he will be releasing the new video to his hit single, the TJ Records produced ‘Party Shot’, directed by Mykal Cushnie . The video will premiere on TVJ’s Entertainment Report and online at popcaanmusic.com and youtube.com/popcaanmusic

Popcaan, will also be making an appearance Saturday, February 4 at the Youth View Awards where he is up for five nominations including Favourite Dancehall Artist Male, Favourite Local Male Artist and Young Hot and Hype Male of The Year.
“Music is the key to everything,” he says. “So we never get hype and we just write songs. It’s all about giving them new styles and new slangs and new sounds. I just do work and the hard work is paying off.”
