Usain Bolt continued his winning ways on Friday night by winning the 100m at the ÅF Golden League meeting in Weltklasse, Zürich. The golden boy from the Beijing Olympics had the slowest start of the nine athletes but when he finally unfurled his tall frame, powered through to win in a time of 9.83 seconds. His winning time left some disappointed as he was at least expected to break compatriot Asafa Powell’s meet record of 9.77 seconds. "My start was not too good," admitted Bolt. "I concentrated on winning and as I'm starting to get a cold I was not able to think about a faster time." American Walter Dix, 9.99, and Trinidadian Richard Thompson, 10.09, were second and third respectively. Michael Frater of Jamaica was sixth in 10.15 seconds. Danny McFarlane came in one better than he did at the Olympics by finishing third in the men's 400m hurdles. Winning the event was Olympic champion, Angelo Taylor in 48.07 seconds. Another American, Kerron Clement, was second in 48.20. McFarlane was timed in 48.40. The other Jamaican's in the race, Isa Phillips (48.99) and Markino Buckley (49.44), finished sixth and eighth respectively.
