Usain Bolt continues to strike as he ran 19.76 seconds to win the 200 meters in the second-fastest time in the world this year at the London Super Grand Prix at Crystal Palace on Saturday.  The time also broke Tyson Gay's track record of 19.84 seconds.

The 100m world-record holder finished almost more than half a second ahead of American Wallace Spearmon and Paul Hession of Ireland.  Spearmon was timed in 20.27 while Hession stopped the clock at 20.37 seconds.  Another Jamaican, Marvian Anderson, was eighth in 20.98 seconds.

It still isn't confirmed whether Bolt will run in both sprint events at the Beijing Olympics and said again after Saturday's race that the decision is up to his coach Glen Mills.

"I'm still not sure about doubling up in Beijing," said Bolt. "I'm still waiting to see what's going on. My coach will make the decision.  I'd definitely like to double - I think I could do well in both.  But my coach hasn't made a bad decision in five years, so if he says I can do only one, I'll do one."

Also on Saturday, Veronica Campbell-Brown stormed away to another victory in the women's 100m.  The defending Olympic 200m champion ran a year's best 10.87 seconds to finish ahead of another Jamaican, Shelly-Ann Frazer.  Frazer was timed in 10.95 seconds, which marked her second time venturing into sub-11 seconds territory.  With the win, Campbell-Brown has stirred a debate as to whether she should be included in the Jamaican team to run the 100m at the Olympics.  The 100m world champion finished fourth at the Jamaican trials in 10.88 seconds.

“I’m in a great position to defend my 200m title,” she said. “As for the 100m, that’s up to the selectors. I accept that I was fourth at the trials, that’s just part of life.”

Of note is that Jamaican trials winner, Kerron Stewart, failed to advance from her heat.  Stewart has the second fastest time of the year at 10.80 seconds.

Bolt and Campbell-Brown weren’t the only Jamaican winners as Melaine Walker won the women’s 400m hurdles in 54.22, just 0.04s outside her best of the year.  Anna Jesien of Poland was second in 54.98 while Sheena Tostata of the USA was third in 55.37 seconds.  Shevon Stoddart was seventh in 56.28.

In the women's 100m hurdles, Bridgette Foster-Hylton could only manage fourth behind winner Lolo Jones of the United States.  Jones won with a time of 12.58 seconds ahead of Australian Sally McLellan, 12.61 and American Joanna Hayes, 12.63. Foster-Hylton finished with 12.67 seconds.
