Following the successful national track and field trials, the Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association has named a strong 51-member track-and-field squad for the Olympic Games in Beijing next month.

The squad will be led by the 100m world record holder, Usain Bolt, and reigning 200m Olympic champion Veronica Campbell-Brown. 

Former world 100m record holder Powell, Danny McFarlane, who won silver in the 400m hurdles at the Athens Games in 2004, and World Championships silver medallist in the decathlon, Maurice Smith, form the backbone of a strong men's team.
