The 3rd Annual Strawberry Hill High Stakes Backgammon Tournament is scheduled for the weekend of June 6th - 8th. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better with the aim to become a featured event on the international backgammon calendar.

Backgammon is a board game for two players who aim to move all their 'checkers' from the board, according to the roll of a dice.

"Backgammon is played by millions of people around the world and the High Stakes Backgammon Tournament at Strawberry Hill is the first and only one of its kind in Jamaica," said organiser, Alastair MacBeath.

Strawberry Hill provides a stunning and magical backdrop to what has become the "coolest" backgammon tournament worldwide.

32 participants will be playing in one of the most beautiful settings for approximately J$1.5M (US$20,000) in cash & prizes.

The registration cost of $35,000 will cover participation, meals and drinks for the weekend and admission to a reggae concert.  85%of all entrance fees are put back into the cash prize pool.
