ImageA terrible bike accident on Monday claimed the life of Brian HoSang, the 24 year-old son of New York businessman, Vincent HoSang, who owns Caribbean Food Delights, a Tappan-based company with locations in more than a dozen states.

Brian was speeding with three friends along Interstate 684 when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into the woods in North Salem, police said.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

HoSang had made many friends in the region growing up, including classmates at Byram Hills High School and Westchester Community College.

“He's always hugging whoever he sees, even if it's a stranger,” said Vincent HoSang, adding that his son was about to become manager of the New York division of Caribbean Food Delights, a promotion from his position as manager of JerkQ'Zine, the family’s fast-food restaurant in Mount Vernon.

New York City Councilman Leroy Comrie, D-Queens, is one of several prominent Jamaican-Americans in the region who have sent condolences to the HoSang family.

"I am hopeful that Vincent and Jeanette will take some solace in the fact that their son Brian exemplified the best qualities of their family," Comrie said in a statement. "He was a special part of the entrepreneurial immigrant success story and philanthropic commitment that has endeared the HoSang family to so many New Yorkers."

HoSang is survived by his parents, Vincent and Jeanette, sisters Simone and Sabrina, and his brother Damian.  Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
