There were four Jamaican athletes in action at yesterdays' IAAF Japan Grand Prix at Osaka's Nagai Stadium. Though none got to the top of the podium, there were three top three finishes. Sanjay Ayre, competing in the 400 meters, finished a very close second in 45.91 behind Liu Xiaosheng of China, who won in a time of 45.90. In the 110m hurdles, national record holder, Maurice Wignall, finshed in third place with a time of 13.84 seconds. Winning the event was China's world record holder, Liu Xiang, China, 13.19 while Shi Dongpeng (13.63), also of China was second. The last of the Jamaican's in action, Ian Weakley and Dean Griffiths, represented Jamaica in the men's 400m hurdles. Griffiths finished in 50.32 and Weakley in 51.46 to finish second and seventh respectively. The event was won by Kenji Narisako of Japan, 49.00. See the complete results here .
