Police are lamenting the fact the residents of Parade Gardens, also known as Southside, know the killers involved in the recent spate of murders and shootings, but will not come forward with information. This is in light of another three murders, which brings the total amount since Friday, to six. The latest victims are 70-year-old Bromley Walker and his 68-year-old common-law wife, Marjorie Miles and 37-year-old Carla Thomas. On Wednesday morning, the elderly couple were at their Higholborn Street home when gunmen invaded and killed Walker on his step before entering the house to pump several bullets into a pleading Miles. The double murder occurred hours after gunmen invaded premises on nearby Gold Street and shot dead Carla Thomas as she slept. On Tuesday morning, gunmen ambushed 56-year-old Kenneth Robinson, otherwise known as 'Shaggy' and shot him dead in front of a shop at Laws Street. A little less than two hours later, gunmen murdered Derrick 'Bull Dog' Grey as he walked along Georges Lane. Last Sunday gunmen shot and killed Marcia Newby after she had taken her child at school. Police say the violence is as a result of a feud between gangs from Southside and Tel Aviv, both in the Parade Gardens community.
