ImageThe Island Couture runway comes alive at the Hilton Kingston this Saturday June 27, 2009 as “Bad Gyal Cecile” struts to the rhythms of Jamaican Fashion. Island Couture will showcase the latest designs by Rick B’s, Mark Anthony, Princess Alecia, Ali Lue and the Art on the Run collection where art and fashion collides. 

The designs will be presented by the fierce Saint International models to music by Code Red. Island Couture is organized by the Jamaica Fashion Cluster as an exciting element of the Hilton Kingston’s Jamaica theme night, highlighting Jamaican food, art, fashion and music.

Island Couture provides established and emerging local designers from the Jamaica Fashion and Apparel Cluster with a platform to showcase their designs to a diverse audience. Since its launch in November 2008 Island Couture has featured designs from Les Campbell, Keneea Linton, Yola Grey, Julan, Poshe, Shades of Africa, Barry Moncrieffe, Blaazin Designs, Yaad Trenz, Mutamba, Minka, T&T Fashions, Simi Ya House, heather Laine, Akira Lyn, Yahdie Conscious, Biggy, The Mushroom, So-Ann’s Creations, Anarcy Clothing, Sandra Kennedy, Patwa Apparel, Sam-J’s Collection, Spokes Apparel, Lubica, REVE Jawellery, Dahliaz Collection, and Cinderella Hats.

The Jamaica Fashion & Apparel Cluster is a project of the Private Sector Development Programme (PSDP) which is co-funded by the European Union and the Government of Jamaica. The Jamaica Fashion and Apparel Cluster is supported and guided by the Jamaica Business Development Centre (JBDC).

The Jamaica Fashion and Apparel Cluster facilitates the growth and development of new and existing micro, small and medium enterprises in the Industry. The Cluster promotes the collective interest of its members and has the ultimate goal of improving the competitiveness of Jamaica's Fashion and Apparel Industry.
