The first 'Miss Earth Jamaica' crowned |

Simone Burke will represent Jamaica, in Manila on November 9, in the third largest global pageant, as the first Miss Earth Jamaica following her crowning at the Knutsford Court Hotel in St Andrew, on Sunday.
After a brief introduction, Ms Burke was invited onto the stage. Shortly after, the smiling but speechless Burke was sashed and crowned 'Miss Earth Jamaica', by Jo-Anne Archbald, a representative from the Ministry of Information and Culture, to the flashing of lights from a significant number of cameras.

 Before Minka came on to the fashion scene some 8 years ago, crochet was associated only with frilly doilies made to lay on your 'what-not' and 'breakfront' underneath the figurines.
Fast-forward to Caribbean Fashion Week 2008 where the little lady continued to demonstrate innovative uses for the age-old knitting technique with a short and spicy collection of her crocheted numbers which featured a bit of everything from evening to beach wear.

The show will feature live musical performances and an incredible fashion show by noted Jamaican fashion designers. All proceeds from this event will be donated to Zion Hill Primary School, Richmond, St. Mary.
