Linval Thompson to release 1st album in 12 years |

On December 23rd, foundation reggae artist and producer Linval Thompson unveils his long awaited roots album, Ghetto Living, through I-Tunes on his Thompson Sound Jamaica label in cooperation with Zojak World Wide distributors. Ghetto Living will be available worldwide through all other online vendors starting January 15th.
Ghetto Living fuses Linval's bittersweet sufferah's sound with powerful social commentary voiced over live rhythm production from Handcart Band as well as modern roots riddims courtesy of Phillip 'Fattis' Burrell of Xterminator Productions, and Dubmatix.

“Made In Jamaica”, a feature film chronicling the development of the island nation’s popular music culture, will enjoy special billing during the 16th Annual African Diaspora Film Festival (ADFF), which opened at six venues across New York City on Friday and runs through to December 16, 2008.
Shot by Jerome Laperouz in Jamaica and France, the film explores reggae’s powerful path to worldwide recognition in just 108 minutes.

Destination Jamaica Takes Center Stage At 2009 Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival |

The Jamaica Tourist Board has taken over as title sponsor of the annual Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival, taking place January 22-24, 2009. The Festival, Jamaica's premiere music event, will once again feature three nights of A-list performances, and this year will also place more emphasis on the destination with special resort and attractions packages created to showcase Jamaica's diverse tourism product.
