Track fans are in for a treat on Friday 5 September as the three fastest men in the history of track and field will go head to head in the 100m at the Belgacom Memorial Van Damme meeting in Brussels, Belgium.
Usain Bolt, Tyson Gay and Asafa Powell, will meet for the first time and the result will likely define the winners place in history at the end of his career.

Asafa Powell ran the second-fastest 100 meters in history today at the Athletissima Grand Prix meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The man who has legally run five sub-9.80 times previously, clocked 9.72 seconds as he steam-rolled American Walter Dix, 9.92 and compatriot Nesta Carter, 9.98 into second and third respectively.

According to a report in Sports Illustrated today, two members of Jamaica's Olympic track team to the Beijing Olympics received shipments of performance-enhancing drugs from an internet distributor.
The two athletes in question are Delloreen Ennis-London, the 2005 World Championships silver medallist in the 100m hurdles and Adrian Findley, a member of Jamaica's second placed team in the 4x400 meter relays at the 2008 World Indoor Championships. Ennis-London, 33, finished fifth in Beijing in her event while Findley was an alternate for the men's 400m hurdles event.

Double world record holder, Usain Bolt, is scheduled to produce another magnificent performance at the Athletissima Super Grand Prix track and field meeting today in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Bolt, the new poster boy for athletics, will be one of 12 individual gold medallists from the Beijing Olympics appearing at the meet. He will be running his favourite event, the 200m, and will be challenged Americans Shawn Crawford, Walter Dix and Wallace Spearmon.

World Cup clash with Mexico switched to the Azteca |

Jamaica's World Cup qualifying match against Mexico, which was to be played at the National Stadium on Saturday, has been switched to the Azteca Stadium in Mexico as a result of the passing of tropical storm Gustav and the damage it inflicted. The return leg has been switched also and will be played at the National Stadium on Saturday, October 11.
