Usain Bolt gets hero's welcome |

Usain Bolt was given a hero's welcome as he arrived in Jamaica on Monday following his exploits at the Beijing Olympics in China.
Prime Minister Bruce Golding, Sports Minister Olivia Grange, Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association president Howard Aries, Jamaica Olympic Association chief Mike Fennell and other dignitaries were on hand to greet the double world record holder as he stepped from Virgin Atlantic flight, VS069.

Asafa ends season with victory in Rieti |

Asafa Powell won the 100 meters at the Rieti Grand Prix in Italy on Sunday but failed to regain the world record. He won the final in 9.82 seconds.
Powell ran faster in his semifinal heat, clocking 9.77 - the fourth time he has run that fast. A year ago, Powell set a then-world record of 9.74 on this same track.

Jamaica lose 0-3 to Mexico in World Cup qualifier |

Jamaica went down 0-3 to Mexico in their second match in the CONCACAF qualifying for the World Cup on Saturday at the Azteca. It was the second straight win for the Mexicans.
Mexico opened their scoring in the second minute courtesy of an Andres Guardado free kick. Fernando Arce made it two from a rebound off a shot by Carlos Vela in the 22nd, and Johny Magallon completed the scoring in the 62nd to help Mexico to three valuable points.

Ennis-London wins second straight race |

Delloreen Ennis-London won her second race in a row at the Brussels Golden League meet in Belgium on Friday. Ennis-London won in 12.65 seconds from a quality field including American Lolo Jones, Spain's Josephine Onyia and Australia's Sally McLellan. Jones finished second in 12.67 ahead of Onyia, 12.71 in third. This win follows up on her 12.60 victory in Lausanne on Tuesday.
