As observers of the summer Olympic Games know, Jamaica is now home to the fastest man and
woman in the world. Starting this January, American Airlines will offer a fast new way to get to Jamaica -- nonstop service from Chicago.

American, a founding member of the global oneworld(R) Alliance, will begin nonstop flights from Chicago's O'Hare International Airport to Montego Bay, Jamaica, on Jan. 31, 2009. Though American has long served Montego Bay, it will be the airline's first-ever nonstop flight there from Chicago.

Tropical storm Gustav passed over Jamaica on Friday, drenching the island with rain and ripping roofs off homes.  It is expected to get back to hurricane strength when in returns to open water.

A bulletin issued by the MET Service of Jamaica at 8:00 a.m. this morning, stated that a hurricane warning remains in effect for Jamaica as Gustav approaches the western end of the island.

The SuperClubs family of all inclusive resorts announced its congratulations to Jamaica's Olympic medallists by offering a complimentary one week stay for two at any of the SuperClubs resorts.

Jamaica swept the medals in the short sprints and won the men's 4x100 relay in record time.  Usain Bolt also solidified his place as the fastest man on the planet by breaking both the 100m and 200m world records.
