The rumors have been confirmed- Caribbean music's highest ranking officials are planning to invade Newark's Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium on Sunday, September 20th. The 'King of the Dancehall' Beenie Man, the 'International Soca King' Machel Montano, and Iconic Roots/Dancehall General Buju Banton are set to storm the ninth annual staging of the New Jersey Reggae Fest, launching a new chapter in the Garden State's longest running celebration of Caribbean music and culture.

For this year's staging, co-promoters G City Entertainment, CCB International, and Icon World Entertainment are focusing on the worldwide success of Caribbean artists, choosing a line-up that showcases the heaviest of the heavy-hitters in Caribbean music, and a landmark venue that is a central part of the city's sports and entertainment industry.

ImageJunction, the once bustling business center of Jamaica's second largest parish, will now be known as the area's entertainment center when the 'King of the Dancehall' Beenie Man, Dancehall's 'rebelution' leader Tanya Stephens, Lover's Rock crooner Anthony Cruz, and Roots chanter Prestige cruise through St. Elizabeth's rolling country-side for Cruz-in' in Da Hills on December 19th.

Instead of taking the show to 'town' (Kingston) or one of the other popular entertainment locations throughout the island, New York-based Triple T Production opts to kick-off the island's Holiday entertainment festivities against the backdrop of Jamaica's naturally beautiful rural landscape, and hopes to jumpstart activity in St. Elizabeth's struggling business epicenter.

Much of Kingston Paradise was shot in the neighbourhood of Southside in downtown Kingston. The local community was closely involved in the grassroots production. When the residing children came out of school, they often watched the film shootings.
Jamaican director Mary Wells is pleased to announce the successful completion of principal photography on her first feature film Kingston Paradise. This new gripping action drama from Jamaica now enters post-production and is expected to release in theatres in early 2010.

Shot entirely on location in downtown Kingston, the production breaks new ground as Jamaica’s first noir thriller. While the film continues in the successful tradition of Jamaican urban dramas such as The Harder They Come, Dancehall Queen and Third World Cop, Kingston Paradise employs a unique visual style along with unexpected plot elements. “Kingston Paradise tells a funky off-beat story with serious drama, exciting action, funny moments, and a philosophical twist,” says Mary Wells, who also wrote the script for the 90-minute film.
