Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief," today announced the addition of new musical artists and celebrity participants to its lineup. "Hope for Haiti Now" will air on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT and 7:00 p.m. CT.
Newly added performers Beyonce in London, Madonna in New York City, and Haitian artist Emeline Michel in Los Angeles will join the previously announced lineup: Wyclef Jean, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira, and Sting in New York City; Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift and a group performance by Keith Urban, Kid Rock, and Sheryl Crow in Los Angeles; and Coldplay, and a group performance by Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z, and Rihanna in London.

Brooklyn Band Wins NY Jamaica Jazz Fest Band Quest |

An eight -member reggae band from Brooklyn, New York, on Monday night became the winner of the 2010 Jamaica Jazz and Blues Band Quest in New York City.
Under the Rasta Influence, or U.R.I., beat out the New Kingston Band in a close competition to walk away with the title and the opportunity to perform before thousands at the Greenfield Stadium, Trelawny, Jamaica later this month.

Reggae Label Exec Launches Grammy Campaign |

Heeding annual criticism that reggae's finest releases are oftentimes overlooked as nominees in the Grammy's best reggae album category, Cristy Barber, VP of marketing and promotions at New York-based reggae label VP Records, is spearheading a drive to educate her industry about the role of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
Barber, a 2005 Grammy nominated producer for the various artists compilation "Def Jamaica" (Island/Def Jam) and the former president of the Marley family's Tuff Gong/Ghetto Youths labels, will commence an informational media campaign in Jamaica, Jan. 21-25, where she will meet with key industry personnel.

Harris is credited with discovering and naming Sizzla. Crucial Times features the signature vocals that Sizzla is known for along with a variety of rhythms.

Jamaica Jazz and Blues Supports Haitian Earthquake Victims |

Moved by the recent tragedy in neighbouring Haiti, TurnKey Productions, producers of the JAMAICA Jazz and Blues Festival, have introduced a food relief programme to assist the victims of the earthquake.
"We are very emotionally close to the devastation in Haiti, our trusted Haitian born friend and colleague, Roxanne Hurley is currently on the island," explained TurnKey Executive Producer Walter Elmore. Elmore went on to explain that his team has not been able to reach Hurley and is growing concerned.
