Dolphin Cove Hosts Christmas Carol Service In Aid Of Steer Town Basic School |

Children's ability to learn and function in society are based on the formative years of education up to age 5 during which time eighty-five percent of brain development occurs. However, many children in Jamaica are not able to maximize their development as they attend schools that are poorly equipped and over-crowded.
One such school is the Steer Town Basic School in Steer Town, St. Ann. The school is housed in a one-room building and has 120 students enrolled. According to the Principal of the school, Mrs. Forsythe, these conditions make it hard for the children to learn.
