Caribbean Nationals In The U.S. Urged Not To Be Foolish |

Caribbean nationals across New York State and the U.S., who have yet to fill out and return their 2010 Census forms are being urged to not be foolish and squander the opportunity to truly stand up and count.
There is still time for the form to the filled out and returned so that the federal dollars desperately needed to keep city services flowing can be accessed, said Carib ID Thursday.

Since Ocean Splash '009 was cancelled due to December's torrential down-pour at James Bond Beach, entertainment firm Triple T Production returns with a brand new power-packed line up for Ocean Splash - The Refix, a celebrity football (soccer) match and concert on the shores of 'Agent 007's' signature spot in Oracabessa, St. Mary on Sunday, May 2nd. International Dancehall superstar Mavado will be one of the featured performers at Ocean Splash Refix live concert, which also includes Dancehall diva D'Angel , the 'gangstress' Stacious, Roots Reggae soldiers Prestige, I-Octane, Vybrant, and Fyakin, Erup, Tiana, Hawkeye, and Bryan Art.

New Jersey's signature Caribbean entertainment outlets, G City Enterprise and Icon World Entertainment, have added Reggae's 'Queen' Marcia Griffiths to the Mother's Day StarTime concert, also featuring legendary Reggae crooner Sanchez and Terry Linen, on Sunday, May 9th at the Robert Treat Hotel in Newark, NJ. Marcia Griffiths, who was awarded the Order of Distinction from the government of her native Jamaica in 1994, is perhaps best known the hit single "Electric Boogie" originally recorded in 1982. Re-released in 1989, "Electric Boogie" peaked at #78 on the Billboard Top Hip Hop and R&B charts, touching off an international dance craze - the Electric Slide. "Electric Boogie" and the accompanying Electric Slide dance have been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show, and The Phil Donahue Show, and the video was a regular on BET, MTV, VH1 and other international music channels. Marcia Griffiths was also an original member of the I-Threes, the iconic trio that provided background vocals for Bob Marley and the Wailers in the mid 1970s.
