IDB President Calls on Private Sector to Help Defeat Jamaica's Security Problems

Business leaders need to work closely with government officials in creating a strong social fabric to help Jamaica reduce its high crime rate, IDB President Luis Alberto Moreno told private sector representatives in that country today.

Moreno was the keynote speaker at the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) Annual Economic Forum, "Going for Growth," held in Kingston, Jamaica.

Windalco strike called off

A strike was averted at the Windalco bauxite plant in Kirkvine as the National Workers Union (NWU)  told told the disgruntled employees to refrain from staging a walkout after the Industrial Disputes Tribunal (IDT) issued an order barring workers from taking industrial action.
