On February 16, 2012 at 11 a.m. EST, Research In Motion (RIM) will be hosting a webcast on Developing Native Games to encourage Caribbean game developers to create games for the BlackBerry® PlayBook OS 2.0 tablet. The BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 software update will soon be available as a free download for all BlackBerry PlayBook users by February 2012.
The webcast will cover key technical information needed for creating native games for BlackBerry and will take an in-depth look at the BlackBerry NDK 2.0 (Native SDK), as well as give details on the available development tools and provide tips on how developers can monetize and sell games on the BlackBerry Tablet OS and BlackBerry 10. Industry experts will also be available to share key lessons and will provide developers the chance to get questions answered through an interactive Q&A.
With the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0, BlackBerry wants to attract even more avid game developers to the new platform. RIM is building an optimized and differentiated platform from the ground up to enable developers to capitalize on the mobile gaming opportunity with BlackBerry. In addition to the BlackBerry NDK 2.0 developers will now have a great opportunity to create games and rich apps for BlackBerry PlayBook with C/C++, Scoreloop and BBM integration.
